I worked for many years in MC (up to V5) using a Quadro 2000.
A few years ago I decided to try Premiere Pro, and there are problems using the Quadro 2000.
So it's time to get a new card. I'm thinking about the gtx 1060 (3GB or 6 GB)
I can't say I'm enthralled with Premiere Pro - but that's a different story - I'm still there, but want to leave the option to use my existing MC V5, and perhaps come back to Avid to the latest version, if I get fed up of Premiers Bugs.
So to my questions
1) With my existing Quadro 2000 still work with the latest versions of MC?
2) What is the current official Avid stand on the use of the gtx cards with MC (as opposed to quadro) ? In the compatibility matrix http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/en267087/ they talk about the driver version and not a particular card.
3) What is the status of the use of the gtx cards in MC in practice? Is it being used by a large body of people without any problems ? I searched for mc and gtx 1070 and didn't find anything significant.
4) To what extent does MC take advantage of the CUDA
My needs are modest/conservative - HD, import/AMA .mts files and output of .mp4.
4K, VR etc. are not relevant at the moment
Thanks
