I DO try to browse these posts before posting my own but this is based on a pretty new update… I recently updated my Avid Media Composer software from 8.7.1 to 8.7.2 and found it has altered things in many subtle (but irritating) ways. My latest issue is this –
Previously I could Link to Media without having to import entire files – this was very helpful as my work involves taking snippets from feature length films (so importing an entire two hour film takes ages and uses loads of drive space). Linking to these was a dream. Now that option is not available under FILE -> INPUT. (I can “Import Media, Link to Volume for Export, etc. – but cannot Link to Media anymore).
Is this because the new update doesn’t work with the old Sony AMA Plug-in? I get a warning that I need to delete the Sony plug-in and install a “nablet” AMA plug-in (haven’t done that yet – downloaded the nablet but cannot find where/how to delete the Sony plug-in)_...
Advice? If it IS the plug-in issue, can you folks tell me how to locate and delete the Song plug-in on a Windows system (all the posts seem to be about MAC OS).
