Hi.
Does anyone in here still use FireWire disks and/or devices with newer HP-computers?
We've been using FW-disks for years for editing DVCPRO HD/DNxHD120 with MC on our PCs. But after upgrading to an Avid qualified HPZ440, and an extra FW card installed in slot 5, I've found that Avid no longer support FW on this HW.
I get system chrashes when trying to play material from FW-disks in MC 8.7.2 on the HP Z440. I can open the project, click trough and scroll the clips, but it'll freeze when I try to play the timeline. Total chrash, need to force power off to restart.
We mainly edit on USB3 drives, but obviously it would be great to still be able to connect our FW-disks and tapedecks to our editing suite. I've been searching google and the forum, and it doesn't seem to be any solution. But surely others might have this challenge as well..?
Best Regards;
