Running Media Composer 8.8.1 on a windows 7pro workstation (details below). The DP shot XAVC HD clips on a Sony FS7 but the network requires that we convert all the raw clips to ProRes 422. The final piece also needs to be delivered in that format, so I figured I would also bring the ProRes clips into avid and edit in that format.
I used a third party program to convert the XAVC files into ProRes 422, and upon playback there is no video or audio issue with the converted files. I then first tried fast importing these into AVID, but once the file was imported I would get "Core Consistency Check Failure" in the source monitor. Alternately, I successfully AMA linked to the ProRes files (which also look and sound fine- so there is no issue with the original converter) and then conslidated them to a new media drive. This seemed to work, except I'm noticing a problem with the second audio channel. Consistently, there is a multi-frame loud static blip that comes up throughout all the clips at random intervals. This is a problem across all the consolidated media. I can't seem to figure out why. Any thoughts?
