I've shot some clips with a Sony FS5 using a flat cinema profile. I've noticed the clips are sharp, contrasty and colourful previewing in Sony Catalyst Browse compared with flat (as you'd expect with a flat profile) brought in to MC. Even graded in MC the clips still have a pasty look compared with Catalyst. See attached still (the MC AMA clip is the top one ). I haven't done any grading in Catalyst, that's how it looks straight off the SD card.
Any reasons why the footage looks so much better in Catalyst or tips on MC grading to get the footage to look as good? I'm not convinced I'm getting the most out of MC.
