I have been having the same issue for a while now and can't find a solution online. I am working on Media Composer 2019.6 on a brand new PC and it crashes everytime I try to import footage. It starts the import and then randomly crashes while importing.
I have tried draging and droping the footage or using source browser (haven't tried to link the footage though I need the files to be in my avidmediafiles folder).
The way I do now is import the files one after the other and saving after every successful import, praying that it wont crash for the next big file... This is not doable. Please help!
Here are the technical specs:
Footage : Canon MOV from 1dx MarkII mostly shot on 50 fps some files are 4k
Codec on import : XDCAM 50MB/S
Project specs: 1080p 25 fps
PC: Intel Core I9 9900K @3.60GHZ, 64go RAM, Windows 10 1809 17763.615
