How to resolve the issue apart from stopping the Avid service before you shut down?
I compressed a 10 minute video today using Squeeze 10. I'm unable to compress using Sorenson 10 standard x264 without crashing on my computer but MainConcept H.264 works fine. I did the compression using the MainConcept H.264 codec and immediately notice a small amount of lip sync problem.
I moved the ProRes file over to my my MacBook Pro where x264 works, compressed it and the lip sync was dead on.
I worked with Sorenson tech support most of last week trying to get the x264 codec to work on my windows Z800, the HP workstation works with the MainConcept H.264 codec, all 24 processors at 99% for a very quick job, but the lip sync, a noticeable few frames off makes it unusable.
My Sorenson settings are never use CUDA, as advised by tech support.
Next week I'll move from MC 7 to 8, and so I think about reinstalling the OS and upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10.
Are there any strong reasons to move to Win 10?
* I'd like to run Avid MC 8x, BCC (=Sapphire) Plugins, Adobe CC
* and maybe Fusion and Cinema4d
* There is an AJA IO Express attached

I just upgraded from MC 7 to MC 8.6.1 Upon start up, I get this message: "The following AMA Plug-in is not compatible with this editior version. Please uninstall and go to avid.com/ama to download and install updated AMA versions. MVP_MSP_SonyXDCAM_64_bit"
Where is the Sony Plug-in located? It doesn't show up in windows programs & features.

Ok, so where did Avid move the set font option? I selected a bin and went to the edit menu, where it's been since the beginning of time, but now the font option is gone. I have two large high res monitors and the font is crazy small. Thanks in advance for any and all advice in this area/
I just got a new HP Z440 to replace my 9 year old Z400. Are there any steps I need to consider when I transfer my old project files over to the new computer?
With to continue...after having trouble updating AMA plugin under same reason, installing new version of Avid Codecs PE is having same problem.
Need to uninstall the older but no suceess, it goes to aome users\appdata\temp\{3555ADf690_SOHELPMEGOD} and tries to fimd the AvideCodecsPE.msi
how can I uninstall the earlier version and install the new version ?

Hey this s Dewey ....am using Alienware 17R3(2016) i have an issue of shrinking problem its continuesly open n unreadable tabs i thought of resolution problem and i tried all steps for tht...but its still same as b4r .... plz help me n this 
We have got Problems when exporting Clips on XDCAM. Somitimes it works, somtimes not.
AVID knows the XDCAM drive, but won´t export. AVID says, it doesn´t see the XDCAM Drive"Please connct XDCAM device or insert disk".
Linking and consolidate via ama and XDCAM drive works fine.
We have actual AMA Plug Ins, also tested this with old versions
Any Ideas?

Hi,
we have bugs after rendering clips with color corretion on it. Result aft render is for one frame the color effect does not work, rest of the clip works fine.
We got this bug with XDCAM and GoPro materiel.
Rendersetting DNxHD 120, Windows 7, HP Z820, 32GB RAM, AVID MediaComposer 8.7

have at this moment an annual subscription for MC (latest).
Perhaps stupid question but when I decide not to continue, am I still able to work with the edition which I have?
Have also previous editions (perpetual license). Can I install again on my new computer and use or is by expiring of my license also working with this program over?

When I open the source browser I can AMA link to cards
However when I go into the card to link individual clips, AVID crashes and requires an end process
I want to AMA certain clips using a specific AMA plugin but I currently can't do anything

I recently moved all my disk drives into a new system. Only Media Composer does not cooperate. At startup, it requires me to activate. When I select activate, it sends me to the application mgr which shows that I am active at vers 8.7. When I try to deactivate it, I get the error msg: no record of this device found. The trial version is unavailable and I need to get back to work.

I'm creating a compliation video that covers about 6 years of videos (2010 thru 2016). The videos are from serveral devices such as iPhone(standard def.), Canon comsumer cams (HF M50), iPhone HD, Sony RX100, GoPro 4, Samsung NX210, etc. This will be a gift to a friend. Since DVD and Blu-ray seem to be old standards now, I figure I would just put the finished video on a USB jump drive that can be plugged into just about any HD TV. So my question is... I current use Sorenson Squeeze 10 to finish my videos out from Avid Media Composer 8.6 and wanted to know whats the best settings to use to create a good finished video? Any sugfgestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a known bug with Media Composer Version 8.6 to 8.7 - if you try to create an Ultra HD 59.94p project using Blackmagic Desktop Video 10.7 or above on a Windows machine, you will get an error message and the system becomes unstable and crash. I wanted to find out if any other Avid users were experiencing the same problem. The bug has been logged and I hope Avid fixes it soon.

I have bought a laptop with Nvidia 970m, put Media Composer 8.0.1 inside it, but the source record monitor doesn't work. Audio can be played in both monitors but the video simply doesn't work. It seems Driver's matter because both monitors have glitching problems. They are not simply black but if I pass on them with another window they start to glitch with that window.
Does someone know which driver can work or how fix this problem?
I upgraded my video card from the Quadro 2000 to the 4000 and if I use the only driver that Resolve 12 will accept, I can't use MC, and vice versa. I shoot with Blackmagic but have resigned to not using Resolve since I need to use MC. Are there any video card recommendations that will work well for both? Thanks!
