I get the following message: Exception ERROR AMediastream::LocateSamples Subclass Responsibility
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

I'm working in animation. I am getting files as pngs for each frame of a shot. I have my import settings set to automatically detect sequentially number files, etc.
My issue is that each shot is in it's own folder: Seq_010_shot_10, Seq_010_shot_20, etc. Is there a way to import or even link multiple shots from their separate folders.
Right now, I have to open each folder select all the pngs then import them. There are over 1100 shots -- that's going to be time consuming.
I've tried linking but it brings in each png as a separate file rather than as a sequence.
I get new batches of shots daily (sometimes more often). It would be great if i could select the folders which need to be imported and have them come into avid as sequences.

Hi all,
I've got some mov files with 1 stereo audio track. When I right click on one of the clips in a bin or select one and go to Clip > Audio and choose 'Split All Tracks to Mono' it makes a copy of the clip, but both the original and the copy have 1 stereo audio track. In short, nothing happens. I've tried both linked clips and transcoded clips.
If I edit the clip into a sequence onto a stereo track, I can then right click on the stereo track in the timeline and choose 'Split Track to Mono' and it works as expected.
Anyone else seeing this?
Ever since I installed 2020.4 on a clean install of Windows 10, I've been getting the "Domain resolution failed!" error:

(At first I thought it might be related to my user settings because the problem went away when using a different user but it eventually came back anyway...)
After some time troubleshooting, I've realised when the error always occurs: If I trim OR move a clip WITH THE MOUSE, with video monitoring enabled AND - this is the important part - full-screen playback enabled.
I have an nVidia Quadro P2000 (diver 431.02) running three identical Benq monitors @ 2560x1440 resolution.
SOLVED: It was resolved for all customers last night. The problem was triggered by the changes with the Avid 2019.6 update. NewBlue were however to fix it retroactively from their server.
Because the fix is coming from the server, we believe the fix should all be automatic and everybody should be good now.
If not, customers should run the NewBlue activation / appmanager and log out / log in.

I installed the NewBlueTitler software (vs. 5) that was in my account. The entry in my account mentions that no serial is required.
However, every title I create carries the red dotted cross indicating that the software is not activated. When I try to activate via the NewBlueTitler Application Manager it doesn't work due to a 'failure to communicate with AvidELF'.
Is this a tempory failure? Or am I missing out something else?
Good day, I have one qestion using FrameFlex option in multicam mode. I have two files with adjusted FrameFlex. I group this files by IN point and get group clip, but after inserting this clip on timeline I do not see FrameFlex icon on the clip and can't apply FrameFlex option to group clip - "Source settings" is inactive. Although FrameFlex settings is applied to clips and I see it in group clip, I can't adjust it and I need adjust FrameFlex individually for each clip on timeline, created during multicam editing. Can I do this?
I just upgraded from 2020.5 to 2020.6, but avid titler+ cannot be opened at all.... So I installed it back to version 2020.5.

Have been looking forward to trying the ProRes on Windows. From a 1080p23.976 project I did a MOV ProRes LT Export with 6 audio tracks and a Data Track with Captions. My first goto is still Quicktime because it will show Timecode and Captions. My Avid timeline starts at 01:00:00:00. QT displays 3600 where the timecode would normally be. The QT menu is set to display Timecode. The 3600 advances as I step forward 24 frames. I have never seen QT do that.
I ran the file with ffProbe and ffPlay. They show the TC as 00:02:30:150 (yes 150).
If you take QT 3600 and divide by 24 you get 150 which is 00:02:30:00.
I linked this back to Avid and it linked with UME and showed Timecode as 01:00:00:00.
MediaInfo also shows Timecode as 01:00:00:00.
Just quessing but I would worry that other players / decoders might not get this Timecode right.
I did also try 1080i59 PRHQ with no Data Track and the results match except the number advances after 30 frames.

With Op-Atom Media composer always supported growing files (capture in progress).
Will this also be the case with UME and more importantly media indexers in an Mediacentral setup. Or does this still require a Op-1a to Op-Atom rewrap?

I'm on 2020.6 and I find that my green dot effects, unrendered titles, Frameflex output etc. are no longer showing in my record monitor when I park the locator on that clip. It briefly shows when I switch to Color Correction, but disappears again when I switch back to the Editing toolset. The clips of course shows and plays in realtime after I did a full render of that section of the timeline.
All green dot effects and titles used to be realtime on my system. This changed on my system somewhere between 2020.4 and 2020.6. Any ideas?

I imagine there's a way to do this. I'm importing several hundred stills to mix in a video project and don't fancy manually adding handles to them

i'm still using sorenson for 1080 hd and that works great
i export a REF file, like i use to do and use sorenson - gets me a mpg file , which plays on my tv, np.
but wanted to use adobe media encoder (cloud) instead 4k setting ,
"same as project" -> mp4,
and many other presets (tried)
the 4k encoding crashes , but it appears to start to work, but. and gives me a file
procedurally i'm doing something wrong. the file should be able to be played... on the pc, right? NOPE
in AVID i use export file (etc) do a video mixdown, etc.

Am I the only one for whom 2020.6 is responding much, much slower on basic extract/lift/overwrite/insert/copy-to-clipboard tasks, as compared to 2020.4 and 2020.5?

I'm working on AVID 8.9.4 and I need to group some footage that was shot upside down. I try to flip it using frame flex before I transcode it. The transcodes look good, the sub clips look good too, but the minute I group them, they are back to being upside down. What gives? Is there anyways around this? Am I forgetting a step here? Thanks

I ingest a large amount of Go Pro 8 footage into a project. via source brower On 2019.12.1 and also 2020.6 I'm get random TOD codes. It does seem related to differing frame rates. Yet when I look in Media Info or Video Spec it brings up correct Time of Day Code.

On 2020.5 and 2020.6 I am experiencing a problematic issue with clip levels and rendered audio clips.
For instance, I add a piece of sound to a sequence, adjust the CLIP level to -20dB, add an EQ effect to take off the low end (50Hz slider all the way down).
As long as the EQ is not rendered, all is fine, but as soon as you render the EQ effect, it appears that the clip level is applied twice, and the resulting playback level is -40dB in stead of -20.
This does not happen on 2020.4, but does happen on 2020.5 and 2020.6.
This also happens with AudioSuite effects.
This is quite an issue, as it is impossible to revise older projects, as a rerender of any audio effects will completely change the mix.
MC 2020.5 and 2020.6, Win 10 Prof, z840 dual E5-2640v4, 64GB RAM, ISIS media storage (project is running on a local drive).
Hope this can be addressed soon, as it is quite a serious bug without any usable workarounds, and a recipe for disaster in specific workflows.

I'm putting this warning out for all of those thinking of upgrading to windows10 2004. I tried this yesterday on some HP z420 and Z4's running a mix of windows 7 and windows 10 1803 through 1909 and several versions of MC 8.x
I have not come to any conclusions what the cause is but all these systems BSOD out when booting after the update to 2004 including when doing a clean install of windows10 2004 and re-installing media composer. I suspect either Sentinel/Pace, ilok or some other drivers included.
The good news is that windows is capable reverting back the upgrade. Still... Microsoft doing a 'Catalina'?
