I am getting this display now - just upgraded to new app mgr a few days ago and also paid for my renewal in advance and now I am getting this message. Any ideas out there. I renewed early before my renewal date to avoid an issues.

Get rid of AppMan annoying nag message?
How do I stop Appman from reminding me every f'ing hour about my subscription expiring "soon"? It expires on the 29th or 30th December and I've been getting this message for a week. I have a reminder set in my calendar when it needs to be renewed.

Capture Tool Crashing in MC8.5.1
After getting all 31 stations up to 8.4.3, we bumped up to 8.5.1. While lots of small stuff got fixed (like the window focus problem when putting in markers) we immediately ran into issues when recording VO using the capture tool. So see below:
- Capture tool crashes immediately when tracks are un-ganged while using M-box mini.
I'm also confused why we can't have the Capture Tool in the Tools drop down, but whatever.
Also, AAF export crashes if system drive isn't filtered out. Not horrible, but sheesh.

Not seeing urendered effects
After installing the latest version of Media Composer I don't see any unrendered effects anymore. It goes as following:
- Avid effects (even as simple as Resize) pass the image from below the effects
- Boris effects just show black screen in the monitor
I start to see the effects when I enter the Effect Mode or hit Play. During playback real-time effects show fine, and non-real time show black screen. After stopping playback monitor goes back to black/no visible effect.
What's wrong?

MC 8.6.5 Background Render Fail
Hi All,
I am having an issue with the background rendering. The services start up fine but when I try to do a render I get the "Unknown error has occurred, please retry the job". I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the program (with manual deletion of the "editor transcode" folder, creating a new user, trashing mc_state etc... I am at a loss as to what else to try and do. Any ideas as to the issue? FYI regular rendering works just fine.

M.C. 8.6.5 Bug - Media Creation Settings Reset
I have encountered a solid bug with the new Media Composer 8.6.5 software on a Windows 10 PC.
In a 29.97 UHD project, the Media Creation setting resets to LB resolution each time I open the project. I have to set it to SQ before I start working each time.
I will submit as a bug report to Avid.

Upstream Pipe Stall Error
I have recently been having a nightmare issue with the NEMFileWriter::ExecuteInternal TiMEOUT - NEMFileWriter has detected Upstream Pipe Stall error.
Has been happening with batch import of AVCHD mts footage from a Sony camera to DNX 145.
I have read all the forums regarding this issue and there does not seem to be a real answer.
The footage has been stitched together using the Sony Content Manager Utility as advised. So there is no GOP issue.
I do NOT have more than 2500 files in my MXF\1 folder.
The project audio and source audio are the same formats.
If I import the files one at a time, there is no problem. So I know there is no issue with the files.
It is only when I do an overnight batch import that takes like 7 hours. That is when the problem happens. So I come in and the process has stopped and I lose a day of editing bacause the import failed.
Can someone tell me what the UPSTREAM PIPE STALL error means? What causes it and how can I fix it.
Also, I see that if I continue after this error, it continues with the batch import. Skips the file in question. That is okay if it is near the end of the batch. But if it is at the start of the batch and I see that I have 5 more hours of import, I CAN'T BREAK OUT OF THE PROCESS. The CTRL-period command does not work. It won't stop the process. The only way to stop it is to hand break out of the program. And then, of course, all the importing up to that point has been lost.
This is a serious problem. Can we solve it here?

Strange Goings On
Am I going mad?
Forgive mer if I have missed something but its a while since I've been here BUT
The last version of MC that I downloaded and installed was v8.5.
I have just booted up my system and it shows that I am running v8.6.4 which I don't think my system will support and certainly my Artists Colour does not seem to be running as smoothly as it did before.
Is there something I am missing or is this a strange quirk?

Rebuilding ProjectMedia
Good afternoon. I have a project that I created and worked on at the end of 2015. Since then the system storage has changed quite a bit, but I have all the media. I have run into a few challenges that even after 10+ years with AVID I cannot figure out.
1. P2 media was used. The media is on a different drive, and I dont see or know of a way to "relink" this P2 media.
2. Other media i relink continually fails when each clip comes back with the CM-NO-SOURCE message. This stops all other relink actions. Sometimes the media comes back with the message and sometime it does not come back and I only get the message.

stereo audio distortion
I have discovered that if I import or link & transcode a stereo music track, it come into avid distorted and sounding like crap. Even if I just AMA link to the file, it gets the same distortion. (bit depth and sample rate do not have an impact on this behaviour). Listen to these two samples of the same audio clip attached called bad and good.

Too bad I only learned this after almost finishing a feature film. Have to go back and re-edit all music. I will do a test on mono tracks yet, but i hope they are okay, cuz that would be crazy.
But I do think it's crazy that these steps have to be taken just to import stereo audio. And why is this not explained in bold letters somewhere. Maybe it is and i missed it. But in case someone else has this issues, thought I would post it.

Swapping banks on very large multicam groups...
I have groups with 42 cameras. How does one view anything past the first 18 in multicam mode? I can pull up a nine split and swap the bank once to give me a total of 18 viewable cameras. Is ther a way to view the other cameras or do I really have to just use the pull down group menu to manually select?

Remove LUT from a Group
Hello
I'm editing and an a multi-cam (grouped) interview using MC8.
When I started the work, I applied LUT using Source Settings and now before the Online I would like to delete it.
Source settings allow me to remove the LUt from the master clip but when I update the sequence, the LUT stays.
To be clear, the Group that i created keeps the LUT although the original clip shows the original colors which results in a sequence with LUT.
How do I clear the LUT from the Group (I cannot access the Source Settings right-clicking the group)?

Audio Ducking does not work in MC 8.6.1
I have installed 8.6.1 with a fresh installation. When I tried to use Audio Ducking, it does not provide any modification to my timeline. I have the following structure of the timeline:
V2 Titles
V1 Video
A1 narrative sound channel 1
A2 narrative sound channel 2
A3 background music (left)
A4 background music (right)
A5 Dialog, Comment channel1
A6 Dialog, Comment channel 2
I have assigned audio 1 - audio 4 as being music in Audio Ducking, and audio 5 and 6 to Dialog. When I click "Duck", nothing happens.
What do I wrong?

Cropping source footage
In some of my source footage I have a boom microphone showing on the edge of the frame. What is the easiest way to crop this out. It sounds like Pan & Zoom is only for still photos - is that right?

Media Composer 8.5.3 - missing output to DV device
I have just upgraded to 8.5.3 from 8.4.5, and can not find the 'output to DV device' setting. It was a right-click on the video quality settings icon, the wee green screen icon at the lower left of the timeline. Am I missing something?

Bug? Exporting Graphic Still 8.6.5
Hello,
I am working on a AMC 8.6.5 on win 10.
When i try to export a graphic (JPEG/TIFF..) from linked XAVC Long GOP QFHD 50 material, i got this error:
Assertition failed: canUproduceframeIndex
with other Codecs like DNxHR this exports works fine.
Can anyone reproduce this?

Faster import/transcode redfiles MC8.6.5 & mix resolutions
What's the fastest way to transcode Red Files with MC8.6.5 as it doesn't use the GPU for importing files? Or more people are using resolve to do this?
How do u guys transcode them to match the ratio if you have mixed resolution of red media or have different resolutions so that there will be no problem to rematch if i have done reframing/rescaling with keyframes during online on a different system (RESOLVE/BASELIGHT).

8.6.5 & XDcam bug?
With the lastest version I'm having issues batch re-importing from XDcam disc - PVW-F1600 connected via firewire. When re-importing offline media or re-importing proxies to high-res two things are happening.
First when selecting batch re-import MC freezes on "Waiting for unmount" if there is already a disc in the player, or after the clips from the first disc are imported. When this happens I have to force quit out of MC and restart. Only way around this is in the batch re-import dialogue box, only select clips from one disc at a time and keep going through the batch re-import process untill all are done.
Second, MC is importing the whole XDcam clip, rather than just the bit needed for the clip in the sequence. If I decompose the sequence first, the new offline clips are the whole XDcam clip, so even if the shot used is only a couple of seconds, it imports the whole XDcam clip. Can somebody test this and tell me I'm not imagining things?
